Happy soggy summer! 10 1/2 inches of rain has fallen in Wauseon the last 30 days. With all the rain that comes, the more grass that needs mowing. I would like to remind all citizens to not put their grass clippings in our city streets as this will clog our sewers very quickly.
Downtown will be buzzing June 20 as the kickoff to our Farmers Market begins as well as Wauseon’s Chamber of Commerce Strawberry Festival and the Historical Society’s tours of Downtown Wauseon. Biddle Park will be busy with softball tournaments and from what I’m told, we now hold the record for the best darn hotdogs of all ball fields in the Northwest Ohio area.
Our Wauseon Fire Department is guaranteeing another great fireworks show on Friday, July 3. Biddle Park will be busy early on this day with baseball tournaments and a variety of activities for our families. We will have food vendors, children games, rides and inflatables setting up around 4 p.m. Music will be provided once again by DJ Nune Molina to coincide with our fireworks show.
We are very proud of our Firework’s Show and proud to have it back in Wauseon. This show does not come without a pretty hefty cost to our Fireman’s Association and City. To offset this cost, the firemen will be holding a fundraiser at Tiny’s Dairy Barn on Sunday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. We also will be taking donations at Biddle Park on July 3 for our 2016 Firework’s Show.
Come on out Wauseon! Support your city. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Wishing you a safe and fun filled summer!
