With a pair of doubles victories, the Wauseon boys tennis team was able to outlast Bryan 3-2 in a home match on Tuesday.
The Indians also got a win from Conner Hicks in second singles. He defeated Bryan’s Keegan McCashen 6-1, 5-7, 6-3.
Wauseon’s first doubles pair of Aaron Spieles and Evan Kost won 6-3, 6-3 over Daniel Borland and Kollin Klingler. In second doubles, James Allan and Chase Soltis earned a 7-5, 6-2 victory.
Wauseon dropped their first and third singles matches.
In first singles, Logan King of Bryan defeated Wauseon’s Tristan Uribes 7-5, 6-2. Bryan’s Colt Arthur defeated Branden Krutz 6-1, 6-2 in third singles.
On Monday, Wauseon hosted Bluffton where they lost by a final of 3-2. It was three singles victories that led Bluffton to the win.
Spieles and Kost picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win for the Indians in first doubles. In addition, Allan and Soltis earned a 6-0, 6-0 win in second doubles.
The Indians are next in action Friday when they take part in the Northern Buckeye Tennis League tournament at Defiance College.
