Archbold and Wauseon met in girls tennis on Monday at Wauseon and just like their meeting on Sept. 1, the Blue Streaks were victorious 5-0.
The Streaks won rather impressively in singles play.
In first singles, Caroline Kinsman defeated Wauseon’s Paige Moden 6-2, 6-1. Darby Stevens of Archbold then added a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Sarah Becker in second singles. Finally in third singles, the Blue Streaks’ Isabel Krieger defeated Maddy Wendt of Wauseon 6-1, 6-0.
The doubles portion of the match was more competitive with the Indians winning a combined eight sets to only five in singles action.
First up was the pairing of Morgan Perry and Amanda Payne of Archbold and Samantha Martin and Olivia Ladd of Wauseon in first doubles. Perry and Payne would come out on top 6-2, 6-1.
Then, in second doubles, Melayna Stuckey and Leah Miller outlasted Kaitlyn Sager and Sierra Rupp 6-3, 6-2.
The Streaks (9-9) then defeated Toledo Christian 4-1 on Tuesday while the Indians (5-9) defeated Ayersville by that same margin.
Archbold’s next match is home against Toledo Scott Monday beginning at 5 p.m. Wauseon is at Start tomorrow at 5 p.m.
