DEFIANCE – The Archbold golf team won their second straight Northwest Ohio Athletic League title after their 308 team score claimed them the league golf tournament championship held Friday at Auglaize Golf Course in Defiance.

That win gave them 15 total points in the league. Next was Bryan who finished with 13 points. The Golden Bears were second at the league championships with a 338 team score.

For the Blue Streaks, freshman Kade Kern was the top scorer as he shot a 73 to edge out Wauseon’s CJ Moser who was second with a 74. Archbold’s Ian Radabaugh was third with a 76, Trevor Rupp tied for fourth with a 79, Brandon Miller shot an 80 to tie for sixth, and Kreighton Sims shot an 87 to place 10th.

After Moser, Trent Armstrong placed 21st with a 93 for the Indians, while Caleb Leu tied for 24th with four other golfers after shooting a 96.

Delta was led by Jay Vann who tied for sixth with Miller of Archbold as each shot an 80. In addition, Drew Mattin shot a 90 to tie for 16th. Chase Sandusky of Delta posted a 96 to tie for 24th with Leu and others.

The Panthers, with 11 league points, finished third in the league behind Archbold and Bryan.

Swanton’s highest finisher was Austin Luce who notched an 81 and finished eighth. Carter Swank finished with a 90 to tie Drew Mattin of Delta.

Travis Mersing and Zachary Lumbrezer led Evergreen as Mersing tied for 13th with an 89, and Lumbrezer tied for 22nd with a 95.
