Wauseon traveled to Liberty Center for a wrestling match Friday, defeating the Tigers by a 50-21 final.

Winning by pin for the Indians were Collin Twigg at 126 pounds, Zaden Torres (132), Manny Gante (144), Zaidan Kessler (165) and Justin Duncan (215).

Wauseon’s Joseph Lugabihl bested Jack Zeiter 14-5 at 113 pounds, Austin Kovar earned a 12-4 major decision victory over the Tigers’ Clayton Seel at 190 pounds, while Bailey Nagel won 5-2 against Degan Schwaiger at 150 pounds.

Archbold first, Wauseon third at Forward Duals

Wauseon finished 4-1 and took third at the Chuck Forward Duals on Saturday in Archbold. The host Blue Streaks finished first.

Archbold won duals against Edgerton 69-6, Ayersville 53-28, Lake 66-12, and Toledo St. Francis 60-24 to reach the first place match. In the final match they defeated Vermilion 53-24.

Picking up wins by pin for the Streaks were Tristan Wyse at 132 pounds, Gabe Chapa (138), Ian Grime (144), Hayden Dickman (175), Dylan Aeschliman (190) and Wyat Ripke (215).

Wauseon won duals over Defiance 38-30, Paulding 54-18, Archbold’s second team 65-12, and Lake 36-27 in the third place match.

Against Lake, Wauseon got pins from Larry Moreno (120) and Brennen Long (144). They also got a technical fall victory from Manny Gante at 150 pounds over the Flyers’ Anthony Anzaldua.

Winning by major decision for the Indians were Chance Snow 17-9 over Walker Howell at 175 pounds and Ben Tule 11-1 Angelo Anzaldua.
