Archbold raced out to a 35-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 42-14 win over Swanton at Hansbarger Stadium on Friday.
The Blue Streaks scored quickly as Carson Dominique capped a short drive with a three yard touchdown run less than two minutes into the contest. The extra point by Krayton Kern made it 7-0.
Swanton drove into Archbold territory on their first possession, but on third and one from the Archbold 36-yard-line, they fumbled and the Streaks took over.
Archbold then added two more first quarter touchdowns. Cade Brenner and Nathan Juarez connected for a 47-yard score and Dominique added an 11-yard touchdown run.
An 11-yard touchdown pass from Brenner to Stephen Diller made it 28-0 and a Dominique 15-yard touchdown run gave Archbold a 35-0 halftime lead.
Josiah Gomez scored from the four to push the lead to 42-0 in the third quarter.
Later in the quarter, Swanton scored its first points when Kamon Molina raced 84 yards to paydirt. Ethan Hensley’s extra point made it 42-7 after three quarters.
Jonah Rico tacked on a 41-yard touchdown run for the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter to finish the scoring.
Archbold outgained Swanton in total yardage 450-245.
Dominique finished the night with 16 carries for 167 yards and three scores. Brenner was 9-of-12 through the air for 161 yards and two touchdowns for the Streaks.
Molina had nine carries for 142 yards for the Bulldogs, while Rico had three for 62 yards.
Archbold (7-1, 4-1 NWOAL) now turns its attention to rival Wauseon as they host the Indians on Friday. Swanton (1-7, 0-5) will host Bryan.
