It took all of 16 seconds for Archbold to get all the points they needed to go ahead and blow past Evergreen 41-0 Friday night.

Jack Hurst muffed the opening kickoff, recovered it, bounced outside and went 90 yards to give Archbold the lead for good at the 11:44 mark of the first.

The Streaks scored again five minutes later when Carson Dominique capped off a drive by going in from five yards out to make it 13-0.

Archbold blew the game open in a two minute span late in the first half.

Cade Brenner hit Karter Behnfeldt from 22 yards out to put Atchbold up 20-0, then after Evergreen didn’t recover the ensuing bouncing kickoff, Archbold jumped on the pigskin and Brenner took advantage throwing a strike to Brodie Bailey for a 13-yard score to put Archbold up 27-0 at the half.

Brenner and Dominique each scored touchdowns from five yards away in the second half to close the scoring for Archbold.

“I was very happy with the way our guys came out and played physical in all aspects of the game,” said Archbold coach David Dominique. “Evergreen tested us early and we were able to make some adjustments to really get things rolling. I thought we executed pretty well but need to make improvements going into the back half of the season.”

In all Archbold gained 344 total yards compared to 121 for Evergreen.

Leading the Blue Streaks was Brenner who competed 13 of 17 for 189 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Dominique carried the ball 17 times for 97 yards and two scores.

Archbold is now 6-1 (3-1 NWOAL) while Evergreen falls to 2-5 (0-4).
