Wauseon charged out to a 27-0 lead by halftime and cruised to a 33-8 win over Evergreen Friday as the Indians won in their Homecoming game Friday night.
They limited the Vikings to just 83 total yards, outgaining them 235-83.
Wauseon improves to 4-2 on the season with a 2-1 mark in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League. Evergreen, having lost four in a row, is 2-4 overall and 0-3 in the league.
Wauseon quarterback Trey Parsons had a hand in all four of the team’s touchdowns, throwing for three and running for another. He hit Ethan Borton for a 34-yard score, Tyson Rodriguez on a 15-yard scoring play, and Logan Carroll from 18 yards away. Parsons’ TD run was one of two yards in the first quarter.
Also adding to the final total was Rodriguez who connected on field goals of 43 and 35 yards in the first half. Evergreen’s score was a 62-yard run by Layne Vance and Colton Robertson added the two-point conversion.
Parsons hit on 15 of 21 passes for 150 yards and the aforementioned three TDs. Borton made five catches for 72 yards and a score. Carroll tallied 52 yards rushing on four carries.
Wauseon hits the road this week when they visit Patrick Henry (4-2, 2-1 NWOAL) Friday. Evergreen hosts Archbold (5-1, 2-1).
