DEFIANCE — Archbold ran away with the Northwest Ohio Athletic League boys golf league title after action in Friday’s NWOAL tournament at Auglaize Golf Course.

After running through the league dual meet season undefeated, the Blue Streaks toppled Bryan by 20 strokes (309-329) to sweep the regular season and tournament championships.

Archbold’s Cahle Roth took home medalist honors, shooting an even-par 72. For his efforts, Roth was named the league player of the year.

Joining Roth on the all-league first team were Noah Huard (who shot a 76) and Drew Dauber (81) of Bryan, Luke Rosebrook (74) of Archbold, Jackson Gleckler (80) of Wauseon, and Ryan O’Shea (82) of Swanton.

Named to the second team are Charlie Jones (80) of Archbold, Kai Dauber (85) and Brayden Hall (87) of Bryan, Ian Schwab (84) of Patrick Henry, Mazin Rukieh (86) of Swanton and Mykale Schneider (82) of Wauseon.

Archbold coach Mike Rosebrook was named the league’s coach of the year.

On the girls side, Archbold also took the league title, which was based off the one-day tournament score. The Streaks totaled a 353, which was 32 strokes better than runner-up Wauseon.

Archbold also had the medalist and league player of the year in Brayton Huffman, who carded an 80. Joining her on the all-league first team are teammates Carly Grime (85) and Aniyah Copeland (91), Kasey Nelson (81) of Patrick Henry, Calaway Gerken (83) and Ashley Fisher (94) of Wauseon, and Kalleigh Mignin (94) of Delta.

Named to the all-league second team are Gabby Rodriguez (97) and Hannah Downing (101) of Archbold, Layla Stickley (102) of Delta, Jayde Ramos (103) of Wauseon and Alyssa Gebers (104) of Patrick Henry.

Patrick Henry’s Linda Hummer was voted as the league coach of the year.
