After the first inning took what seemed like until Christmas, Swanton made short work of visiting Rogers in a 19-0 five-inning win in baseball Wednesday.
The Bulldogs scored 12 first frame runs on just two hits.
That’s because Ram pitchers issued an astounding seven walks and were hindered even more by five errors. John Heckert’s two-run double was the biggest blow of the first.
Swanton put seven more on the board in the fourth with a little more conventional manner.
Kaden Curtis had the big hit with a two-run double into the left-center gap and Drew Smigelski added a two-run single. The Bulldogs accumulated their 19 tallies on just seven hits, including three from Smigelski.
Caleb Ostrander went the last four innings for the victory, allowing just two hits.
The Bulldogs travel to Evergreen for a Division III sectional semifinal contest Wednesday at 5 p.m.
