Jacoby, Lerma among those receiving first team honors

The Buckeye Border Conference recently released their all-league basketball teams and on the boys side many from the area received honors.

Cayden Jacoby of Pettisville and Elijah Lerma of Fayette were named to the All-BBC first team.

Zach Hayes of North Central was the league’s player of the year.

Second team All-BBC for Fayette were Quinn Mitchell and Kaden Frenn. Wyatt Mitchell was honorable mention for the Eagles.

Pettisville’s Joey Ripke got second team all-league honors. Jaret Beck and Zakkai Kaufmann were honorable mention for the Blackbirds.

First team

Drew Gallehue, sr., Edon; Cayden Jacoby, jr., Pettisville; Elijah Lerma, sr., Fayette; Robbie Thacker, sr., Holgate; Teyvon Harris, sr., Stryker; Jack Berry, sr., Edon.

Player of the Year: Zach Hayes, sr., North Central.

Second team

Joey Burt, soph., North Central; Garrett Walz, jr., Montpelier; Joey Ripke, soph., Pettisville; Quinn Mitchell, sr., Fayette; Kaden Frenn, jr., Fayette.
