Wauseon girls win two at swim tri-meet

A swimming and diving tri-meet was held Tuesday evening between host Wauseon, Bryan and Clay. At the meet, the Wauseon girls defeated Clay 100-45 and Bryan 105-69, while the boys bested Clay 59-49 but fell 75-47 against Bryan.

Individually for the boys, Xander Ankney took first in the 200 IM. Ankney was also runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle.

Taking second for Wauseon were Beau Reeder (200-yard freestyle), Andy Scherer (50-yard freestyle), and Austyn Schweinhagen in diving.

For the girls, Grace Rhoades finished first in the 50 and 100-yard freestyles. Maggie Duden won the 200 IM for the Indians, Alyssa Disanti won diving, and Ashley Freestone the 100-yard freestyle.

Wauseon’s Reese Ankney was runner-up in the 200 and 500-yard freestyles. Also finishing second were Natalie Kuntz (200 IM), Aariyah Hallett (50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle), and Bell Knapp (diving).
