Three Fulton County football teams have punched a ticket to the OHSAA playoffs.

Swanton ended a long drought after sharing the NWOAL title with Wauseon The Bulldogs (9-1) will host Apple Creek Waynedale (7-3) of the Wayne County Athletic League on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Division V.

This is the second trip to the playoffs for Swanton. The Bulldogs last made the playoffs in 1995 when in the first game they dropped a heartbreaking 21-20 decision to Versailles, who went on to win the state title.

Wauseon will be making its third straight trip to the playoffs and sixth overall. The Indians fell in the regional final last season and won a state title in 1993.

Wauseon (9-1) is the second seed in Division IV, Region 12 and will host Bellevue (8-2) in the opening round at 7 p.m. Saturday. Wauseon defeated Bellevue in the playoffs last season.

Delta got into the playoffs in Division VI, Region 20 despite a week 10 loss to Swanton. It is their eighth postseason berth.
