FINDLAY – Archbold golf will head back to the state tournament after a runner-up finish at the Division II district tournament held at Red Hawk Run Golf Course in Findlay Thursday.
Galion was the district champion with a 342 team score, while the Bluestreaks were second with a 344. Those two squads are onto the state tournament.
Archbold’s Kreighton Sims placed fourth individually with an 82. Also scoring for the Streaks were Mitch Grosjean (T-11th) with an 85, A.J. Mahnke (T-18th) 88, and Kade Kern (T-20th) 89. Josh Nofzinger (52nd) shot a 108.
Both Swanton and Wauseon had individuals competing, but neither managed to advance.
For the Bulldogs, freshman Garrett Swank took 30th with a 94. Wauseon sophomore Dylan Grahn tied for 47th with a 103.
The OHSAA State Golf Tournament is this Friday and Saturday at NorthStar Golf Club in Sunbury.

Leppelmeier advances for Pettisville
A pair of local golfers competed at the Division III district at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green Thursday.
Pettisville picked up a state qualifier from sophomore Max Leppelmeier. He shot a 77 to place second overall. Christian Nartker of Kalida was first with a 74.
Noah Brinegar of Fayette finished in a three-way tie for 22nd, shooting an 84.
