Bluestreak girls tennis handles Wauseon, 4-1

Archbold started off with a pair of singles victories, then swept the doubles portion of the competition in a 4-1 girls tennis win at Wauseon Thursday.

Getting the singles wins for the Bluestreaks were Amanda Payne and Callie Rohrs. Payne defeated Wauseon’s Alisa Shelt 6-1, 6-3 in first singles, while Rohrs won over Julie Waldron in second singles 7-6 (7-5), 6-4.

In third singles, Wauseon got a win from Sam Aeschliman. She defeated Maggie Henry of Archbold 6-1, 7-5.

Archbold’s first doubles of Leah Miller and Elizabeth Mignin defeated Sierra Rupp and Paige Smith 6-3, 6-2. In second doubles, Sara Lovejoy and Keyndal Hudson earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over Aliza Kudlica and Caitlyn McDonough of Wauseon.

Archbold improved to 4-2 with the win. They return to action this Thursday at home versus Ottawa Hills. Wauseon (3-4) heads to Bluffton Thursday.
