Indians best Stryker in golf, fall to Maumee Valley Country Day

The Wauseon golf team split a pair of matches earlier this week. Monday at Ironwood, the Indians bested Stryker 176-184. The next day, the Indians traveled to Fallen Timbers Fairways where they fell by a final of 177-186 to Maumee Valley Country Day.

Leading the Indians against the Panthers was Eric Parker with a 41. Dylan Grahn shot a 44, Caleb Leu 45, and Trent Armstrong 46.

Stryker’s Spencer Clingaman had the lowest score as he shot a 37. Also scoring for the Panthers were Logan Boetz with a 43, Devon Weirauch 45, and Reece Hall 59.

Andy Scherer had a 44 to pace Wauseon on Tuesday. Armstrong added a 46, Grahn 47, and Luke Wheeler 49.

For MVCD, Evan Herritage led the way with a 41. Brandon Nickens chipped in with a 44, while Noah Greenbaum and Newt Zeigler each registered a 46.

Wauseon’s next match is Thursday at 4:30 p.m. when they host Antwerp.
