The Wauseon and Archbold girls tennis teams had players in action at the Division II girls sectional tournament over the weekend at Defiance College.
In singles, Wauseon’s Autumn Dominique picked up a pair of wins Thursday to advance to Saturday’s quarterfinal where she fell to Cori Aubry of Ottawa Hills 2-6, 1-6. The Indians’ Mackenzie Eberly defeated Darby Stevens of Archbold 7-5, 6-0, however, she fell in the next round ending her season.
Wauseon’s Paige Moden defeated Archbold’s Sara Bilen in her first match 7-5, 6-3, but lost her next match to an opponent from Maumee Valley Country Day.
Archbold’s doubles team’s of Lydia Andres and Caroline Kinsman, as well as Viviana Garcia each won a pair of matches, however, they fell in their third match. Andres and Kinsman opened with a win over Wauseon’s Maddi Rice and Sarah Becker.
