LIBERTY CENTER- A bevy of local cross country teams competed in the Liberty Center Widewater Invitational held at the Widewater Retreat Center on Saturday.

In a race where both the boys and girls were broken up into two heats, Fayette took second as a team in the Boys Orange race. Leading them was Troy DeCant (17.34.73) who placed eighth overall.

Casen Burkholder (17:51.34) took 14th, while Alex Jaramillo, Clayton Pheils, Austin Lopez and Garett Reinking each finished in the top 25 for Fayette.

Archbold took sixth in the Boys Black division, led by Logan Garrow (17:08.17) who finished seventh. Pettisville placed 10th as a team.

Swanton’s Brett Bettinger finished 20th with a time of 17:43.10.

Pettisville took ninth in the Girls Black division, but notched a pair of top ten placers in the process. Alexa Leppelmeier (19:52.53) and Nichole Foor (19:54.50) placed sixth and seventh respectively.

Rachel Buchhop (21:20.08) took 21st for the Delta girls.
