In a match that was added onto their schedules, the Wauseon golf team defeated Delta in a dual Wednesday at Ironwood, 172-187.
Wauseon, led by Anna Marshall’s 42, did not have a single golfer shoot over 49. Following Marshall was fellow senior Brady Rupp who notched a 43. Tyler Clausen also shot a 43, C.J. Moser 44, Chase Brock 47 and Trent Armstrong 49.
Delta was led by Michael Thomas who posted a 44.
Jay Vann was two shots behind Thomas for the Panthers at 46. Cole Mattin came in at 48, Chase Sandusky 49, Brady Wymer 52 and Tim Sonick 53.
Wauseon then traveled to Orchard Hills Golf Club in Bryan on Thursday for an NWOAL tri-match that featured the Golden Bears and Evergreen. The Bears won with a 168, Wauseon second at 185 and Evergreen third with a 220.
Rupp pegged a 44, Brock 45, Moser 47, Marshall and Clausen 49, and Armstrong with a 51. Evergreen was led by Travis Mersing’s 51 and Caleb Lumbrezer’s 53.
The Indians are now 4-2 in NWOAL competition, tying them for second place with Bryan and Swanton. Archbold is first at 5-1.
Delta had a home tri-match with Evergreen and Swanton on Monday, but those results came in past deadline and could not be reported in the paper. They are next in action Friday with the league tournament at Auglaize Country Club in Defiance which begins at 9 a.m.
Prior to the league tournament, Wauseon hosts Archbold and Liberty Center today in a tri-match. They will also be at Eagle Rock Golf Club Tuesday for a tri-match with Bryan and Defiance.
