11:17 p.m. – Joshua C. Alvarez, 20, Delta, was westbound on County Road EF, Swancreek Twp., when he swerved to avoid a northbound deer. His vehicle went off the north side of the roadway and came to rest in a corn field owned by Thomas Parker.
Friday, July 31
1:39 p.m. – Tia M. Habel, 19, Delta, was eastbound on County Road H, York Twp. and failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of County Road 7-2. Habel’s vehicle struck a vehicle operated by Rachel L. Buchhop, 17, Delta, who was northbound on County Road 7-2. Buchhop’s vehicle then struck a vehicle operated by Michael S. Wells, 57, Swanton, who was stopped at the westbound County Road H stop sign. Habel was cited for traffic device – stop sign.
Saturday, Aug. 1
12:13 p.m. – Robert G. Fagerman, 65, Sand Creek, Mich., was southbound on State Highway 109, Royalton Twp. A vehicle operated by David S. Ross, 44, Sylvania, was westbound on State Highway 120. Ross failed to yield to Fagerman’s vehicle and Ross’ vehicle was struck by Fagerman’s vehicle. Ross was cited for traffic device – stop sign.
Tuesday, Aug. 4
6:11 p.m. – An unknown driver was traveling from Commercial St., Pettisville, through the parking lot at the Pettisville Post Office, when the vehicle struck a Toledo Edison pole and a stop sign owned by USPS and fled the scene.
Wednesday, Aug. 5
8:00 a.m. – Monique A. Jasso, 19, Defiance and Tiffany Hall, 27, Fayette, were both traveling southbound on State Highway 66, Franklin Twp. Jasso and Hall were following a slower vehicle. Hall merged into the northbound lane in an attempt to pass Jasso and the slower moving vehicle. Jasso merged into the northbound lane in an attempt to pass the slower moving vehicle. Jasso struck Hall’s vehicle as Hall was returning to the southbound lane.
Friday, Aug. 7
2:45 p.m. – Claudia K. Overmyer, 62, Wauseon, had backed out of a parking space 3679 US 20A, Swancreek Twp. As Overmyer pulled forward, her vehicle struck a parked vehicle owned by Michelle Savage of Delta.
Sunday, Aug. 9
11:05 a.m. – Brian W. Davis, 41, Defiance, was eastbound on County Road N, Gorham Twp., when his vehicle struck three sheep in the roadway. The sheep were owned by Christine McVay, 24549 County Road N, Fayette.
11:19 a.m. – Desirae D. Hintz, 34, Waldron, Mich., was northbound on State Highway 66, Franklin Twp., when she pulled over to the east side of the roadway to stop and struck the guard rail.
Monday, Aug. 10
5:35 p.m. – Martin D. Jones, 65, Sylvania, was southbound on County Road 7-2, Pike Twp., and failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. His vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and struck a guard rail before coming to rest in the southbound lane. Those injured were transported to medical facilities.
Tuesday, Aug. 11
2:11 a.m. – James R. Samples, 59, Wauseon, was southbound on County Road 14, Clinton Twp., when his vehicle struck a raccoon in the roadway. The driver claims that he now has no brakes due to the collision with the raccoon.
8:38 a.m. – William D. Nichols, 71, Taylor, Mich., had been eastbound on US 20, Chesterfield Twp. He was backing up his van and struck a mail box own by Richard Hite, 13328 US 20, Wauseon.
Thursday, Aug. 13
5:02 a.m. – Raymond W. Oates, 81, Waldron, Mich., was eastbound on US 20, Gorham Twp., when a horse entered the roadway. Oates’ vehicle struck the horse, owned by Dawn Stough, 24526 US 20, Fayette.
11:21 p.m. – Ashley H. Beard, 29, Carbondale, Ill. had left the toll plaza of the Ohio Turnpike at Exit 34, Dover Twp. As she approached the stop sign, she failed to yield and was struck by a northbound vehicle operated by Sandra Randall, 45, Morenci, Mich. Beard was cited for failed to yield right of way.
Monday, Aug. 17
6:15 a.m. – Chad A. Lavinder, 27, Wauseon, was southbound on State Highway 66, German Twp. He had pulled forward to get a clear view of the intersection of US 20A before proceeding. A vehicle driven by Leonides Mendez, 48, Fayette, was also southbound on State Highway 66, rear ended Lavinder’s vehicle and fled the scene, turning east onto US 20A. Mendez was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
