Fund set up for local family following fire

On June 10 a three alarm fire occurred at the home of Terry and Christine Smallmans in the Evergreen School District. They were out of town when the fire took place.

The pole barn was a total loss and housed both Terrys Trans Am and truck, small business, pneumatic tools, equipment, hand tools, and so much more. The fire also destroyed the backside of their garage as well and destroyed 15 – 20 trees.

Members of the community and their children have set up an emergency fund to help them as it will take months to file with the insurance company and provide the necessary documentation before they can rebuold.

If you would like to participate in this fund, donations can be made at Fifth Third Bank under the titled account “Fire Emergency Fund for Terry & Christine Smallman”.

At this point the only thing fire officials know is that it started in the upper southeast corner of the barn. The fire was deemed non-suspicoius and undetermined, according to Christine Smallman.
