Wauseon Schools sell Burr Road property

The Wauseon Board of Education on April 27 approved the sale of the former site of Burr Road Middle School.

According to the Fulton County Auditor’s Office, the site at 717 Burr Road was sold to David W. Garmenn and Matthew K. Stites. Both men owner area farmland to the south of the former school property.

Also at the meeting, the board authorized the superintendent to enter into a contract between the district and Beilharz Architects, Inc. for services pertaining to the design of the new Board of Education offices.


The board voted to offer a number of supplemental contracts including Joe Allen, cross country head coach; Bill Blanchong, volleyball head coach; Tom Burkholder, diving coach; Chad Burt, boys basketball head coach; Travis Cooper, football head coach; Shawn Kauffman, boys soccer head coach; Jordanne Marks, girls soccer head coach; Kody Moden, head girls tennis coach and boys bowling coach; Ashley Oyers, girls basketball head coach; Brandon Schroeder, head girls soccer coach; Tony Schuette, head swimming coach; Kyle Storrer, head golf coach; Adam Baird, quiz bowl and Spanish Club; Katie Black, FFA; April Beck; Spanish Club; Tom Brady, National Honor Society; Don Clark, orchestra director; Mike Colon, WHS art club; Sarah Rupp and Katie Miller, WHS student council; Chris Thomas, FFA; Tatiana Wright, Spanish Club; and Jason Robinson, mock trial, fall play director, spring musical director.

The board approved the reassignment of Terry Beck from fourth grade to fifth grade teacher for the 2017-18 school year. They approved the reassignment of Michelle Eberle from first grade to kindergarten for 2017-18 with the expectation of returning to first grade in the 2018-19 school year.

The board offered a one-year certificated teaching contract to Hannah Dymarkowski as a fourth grade teaching, pending background check.
