The Evergreen FFA chapter joined others across the United States in celebrating National FFA Week in style Feb. 18-25.
Each day started out with educational tidbits about the FFA and agriculture, followed by games at lunch and different themes of dress each day. FFA facts and jokes were posted on signs around the school to inform the student body and the faculty of the amazing aspects of agriculture.
Both Evergreen students and FFA members dressed in national blue and corn gold on Tuesday; red, white, and blue on Wednesday; camouflage and jeans on Thursday; and flannels and FFA jackets on Friday. Those who dressed were given treats and thanks for their participation. During lunch each day, students rolled up their sleeves for basketball, cornhole, and ping pong. Things seemed pretty intense during ping pong, as students each took turns trying to defeat Mr. Schmidt.
The FFA also showed their appreciation to the teachers, administration, and staff of Evergreen High School for their support of the FFA chapter by buying their lunch.
Evergreen FFA members and officers also did their part to make the public more aware of the FFA organization and ots home chapter by setting up station at the Tractor Supply Company in Wauseon on Feb. 18 and Feb. 25. This gave them the opportunity to visit with patrons and tell them about the FFA and its opportunities, along with the Evergreen FFA chapter’s events and accomplishments.
