Delta Elementary School will hold a kindergarten screening April 27-28th.
During the screening, children will be assessed for kindergarten readiness in the areas of language, concepts, and motor skills. Speech and language will be assessed by the speech pathologist. The nurse will perform vision and hearing screenings. The entire process will take approximately one hour.
During the screening appointment, parents will fill out registration papers. The nurse will meet with parents to review health history and immunization records. There will also be a brief parent meeting to cover important information such transportation, lunch procedures, the procedure for when children are absent, and discipline procedures.
Children who will be five years old before Aug. 1, 2017, are eligible. Call Delta Elementary School after April 9 at 419-822-5630 to schedule a screening appointment.
Items necessary to bring include photocopies of a birth certificate, custody papers if applicable, immunization records, and proof of residency in the Pike-Delta-York school district. Samples of residency proof include current utility bills, a driver’s license, a payroll stub, a home deed or a lease agreement.
Parents of current kindergarten students note that they will not have school April 27-28.
