Larry Johnston battled glioblastoma [GBM] for 11 months. Glioblastoma is the fastest growing and deadliest form of brain cancer. Seventy-five percent of all GBM patients die within 18 months of diagnosis with the current standard treatments. Without treatment, life expectancy is less than three months.
Throughout his journey he never lost hope. In order to keep that hope alive and hit a “line drive” in Larry’s memory, organizers invite area residents to the 2nd Annual Line Drives for Larry: Batting to Beat Brain Cancer 5k Run/Walk.
Johnston was married to Debbie for 38 years and had two daughters, Jenny and Justine, and one grandson, Cooper.
Awards wil be given in each of the age groups.
