The Wauseon High School speech and debate team has kicked off their season with admirable success. Competing at six local tournaments thus far, the Indians proved dominant in many categories with consistent placers.
Returning speakers include the team of Sarah Becker and Julie Kahrs in Duo Interpretation, Olivia Ladd, Paige Moden, and Kate McKean in Humerous Interpretation, Sophia Stockham in Congressional Debate, Cory Johnson and Angel Juarez in United States Extemporaneous, and Gabe Witt, Sarah Broun, and Sarah Matthews in Dramatic Interpretation.
The team also hopes to capitalize on many new members starting the season a little later due to fall sports and other activities.
The team is proud to host 230 competitiors and 65 judges from over 13 schools accross Ohio at their annual Indian/Rotary Invitational to be held on Saturday, Dec. 17 at Wauseon Elementary and Middle Schools. Observers are more than welcome to come out and see what speech and debate is all about.
