No one hurt in car, train crash

A train and car crash in German Township on Saturday left no one injured.

The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash involving a passenger car and a train. The crash occurred on County Road D, west of County Road 20 at approximately 11:06 p.m.

A 2013 Chevy Malibu, operated by Casey Lee Lovell, 21, of Fremont, was traveling west on County Road 20 when it failed to negotiate a curve. Lovell lost control of his 2013 Chevy Malibu, which came to rest on the northern railroad tracks, according to the HIghway Patrol. Lovell and his passenger, Brandon Tyler Boehm, 21, of Maumee, safely got out of the vehicle before it was struck by a train traveling west.

No injuries were reported. Alcohol is not a factor in the crash.

Assisting agencies on scene include the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and Merilatt’s Towing.

The crash remains under investigation.
