The City of Wauseon will offer residents a Fall Cleanup Week from Oct. 7-15.
Residents can clean up their garages and backyards and take their large refuse items to the city garage to be disposed of free of charge. Use the entrance off of Linfoot Street.
Acceptable drop-offs include such items as furniture, TVs, mattresses, box springs, mowers, rototillers, swing sets, dried paint (lids must be off the cans), bagged ashes, empty barrels, construction materials (not to exceed five feet in length and must fit in rolloff container), and metals and appliances (lids must be removed).
The following items will NOT be accepted: yard waste, leaves or grass; hazardous waste such as batteries, pesticides, and liquid paint; tires; any liquid; burn barrels full of ashes; concrete.
Appliances containing Freon must be certified and tagged Freon-free by a certified Freon recycler.
The Dumpsters will be manned by Wauseon Public Works employees from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The Dumpsters will be closed Sunday.
Mayor Kathy Huner asks residents to help their neighbors get their items to the disposal site.
