4-H clubs keeping busy

Fulton County 4-H clubs are buzzing with activity.

The Pettisville Ever Ready 4-H club held its seventh meeting Monday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Members discussed possibilities for the group’s fundraising money. Livestock entries are due Aug. 1. Late entries are accepted until Aug. 5, along with a $20 late fee.

Members were told to be certain they have their Mandatory Club Community Service project approved and completed as soon as possible. Those who didn’t receive their Pam’s Pantry orders were to get them at the last meeting.

The Club Ice Cream Party will be held at the next meeting, Tuesday, July 19, 7:30 p.m.

Pike X-L 4-H club held a meeting Thursday, June 16.

A discussion and vote was taken not to have a fair booth this year.

The following demonstrations were given: Kylee Hines on cuts of beef, and which part of the animal they come from; Jessica McWatters on different types of animal bedding absorbency; Isaac Case on vegetables, and which part of the plant they come from.

The July meeting will be specific to members projects. Aug. 6 will be the club’s scheduled family activity.

The next scheduled meeting will be Thursday, Aug. 18, at 7:30 p.m. The club will sell fair tickets for the 2016 Fulton County Fair. To purchase, see one of the members.
