High visibility traffic blitz yields three citations

Sheriff Roy E. Miller announces that the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office conducted a High Visibility Traffic Blitz on Saturday, July 4. Deputies who worked this Blitz made 11 traffic stops and issued three citations.

The citations were for driving on a suspended license, driving under the influence of alcohol and an open container of alcohol. Deputies also issued 11 warnings to motorists. The High Visibility Traffic Blitzes are paid for from a grant that the Sheriffs Office received from the Ohio Department of Public Safety.

The next High Visibility Traffic Blitz will be held Monday, July 13 through Sunday, July 19. Deputies will be working various hours and locations around the county. They will be looking for such violations as excessive speed, seat belt violations and other distracted driving violations.

Sheriff Miller and his deputies are dedicated to protecting the citizens of Fulton County and the motorists who travel its highways. This grant allows extra patrol to enforce the traffic laws that will increase the safety of motorists on the roadways in the areas that are prone to a higher number of serious and fatal crashes.
