The Wauseon Board of Education accepted donations and approved personnel items at its meeting on Friday.
Among the donations was $20,000 from Keith and Andrea Konieczka for the purchase of new starting blocks for the high school swimming pool.
Other donations accepted included $5,000 from the Dominique Family Giving Fund to the district for cost of supplies for the student of the week program, $3,697,30 from North Clinton Church to Wauseon Elementary School Food Pantry, $3,000 from Wauseon Athletic Boosters to the athletic department towards the purchase of Hudl, $2,800 from the Athletic Boosters towards the purchase of concussion gear, $600 from Fulton County Pork Producers to Wauseon FFA for their help in the pork stand at the fair, $500 from Worthington Industries to the transportation department towards the purchase of new department shirts/jackets, and $100 from Paige Johnson, on behalf of Fulton County Economic Development, to Wauseon FFA.
The Board approved the resignations of Dawn Torbet, high school teacher aide; Veronica Canales, high school teacher aide; Michelle Borer, middle school cook; Noah Harman, assistant speech coach, and Eric Puehler, volunteer wrestling coach.
Sharon Smith and Richard Eric Hunter were each offered a one-year limited classified contract as a full time bus driver. Also, Jennifer Croninger was offered a one-year contract as head softball coach, Jacob Ramos was offered a one-year contract as junior high wrestling coach, and Isaac Jeffers was offered a one-year contract as assistant baseball coach.
An amended unpaid parental leave request was approved for Brittany Webster. Jacob Newlove and Brandon Schantz were approved as volunteer baseball coaches and Patricia Carr was approved as volunteer bowling coach.
Tammy Allison was approved to complete the seven-year term of Sue DeRoth on the Wauseon Public Library Board of Trustees.
The Board also approved several policy revisions, a five-year financial forecast, and the Rachel Wixey and Associates substitute list.
At the Veterans Day meeting the Board recognized veterans Larry Fruth, board member, and John Kahmann, treasurer, for their service to the country.
The next Board meeting will be Dec. 12 at the Board of Education office.
