The Toledo Symphony Orchestra (TSO) is performing around the region this holiday season, including a show in Delta. For the first time since 2019, the TSO will travel to various neighborhood churches, schools, and concert venues to perform a collection of seasonal classics and traditional favorites for all ages.
“The holidays are usually rich with customs that bring us together—dinners, religious celebrations, house parties, and family traditions. The arts are a big part of this,” says Zak Vassar, President & CEO of the Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts. “It’s an incredibly celebratory time. But when I think of last year, the holidays were so different. We couldn’t come together. Families shared dinner over FaceTime. Church services were online. And we couldn’t enjoy the musical spirit of the season.
He said he was thrilled to bring back Christmas at the Peristyle and Handel’s Messiah. Those two performances took place the first weekend of December and TSO played The Nutcracker performance this past weekend.
The orchestra will perform at Trinity Lutheran Church in Delta on Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. Call Trinity Lutheran Church at 419-822-4579 to learn more about this event.
TSO will also play at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Napoleon on Dec. 15.
