Enedina Berrones has been appointed medical director at Maumee Valley Guidance Center, a community behavioral health center with offices in Defiance, Bryan, Napoleon and Wauseon.
Dr. Berrones, a psychiatrist, has worked for Maumee Valley Guidance Center since 2010. As medical director, she oversees a medical staff that includes three other psychiatrists and two registered nurses.
She earned her medical degree from the Central America Health Sciences University School of Medicine, Juarez, Mexico campus, and completed her psychiatry residency at MetroHealth Case Western Reserve in Cleveland. Dr. Berrones sees patients at the agency’s Defiance and Bryan offices. Her special practice interests include adult patients and those with both a mental health and addiction diagnosis.
Prior to becoming a doctor, she was trained as a registered nurse, working for nearly 20 years as an intensive care nurse at hospitals in Laredo, Texas.
At Maumee Valley Guidance Center, Berrones’ colleagues include Dr. Jerrold Gray, who sees adult patients at the agency offices in Napoleon, Wauseon and Defiance; Dr. Sandra Vonderembse, who sees adult patients at the agency office in Defiance; and Dr. Robyn Foy, who sees child and adolescent patients at the agency offices in Napoleon and Defiance.
Maumee Valley Guidance Center, formed in 1960, provides a variety of behavioral health services for children and adults, including outpatient counseling and psychotherapy, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, case management, client support groups, and dual diagnosis treatment for adults. In addition, Maumee Valley Guidance Center offers prevention programming and Veteran Supportive Services.
Through a partnership with Health Partners of Western Ohio, physical healthcare is available to the community at the agency’s Defiance office, located at 211 Biede Ave.
