Restaurant supports Archbold anniversary

The Barn Restaurant at Sauder Village is planning a “Barn Gives Back” event Thursday, Jan. 28 to support the 150th anniversary celebration of Archbold.

Community members are encouraged to dine that day at the restaurant, where a portion of the day’s proceeds will be used to fund the development of a special Archbold History exhibit at Sauder Village.

Members of the 150th Anniversary Committee will be at the restaurant throughout the day to answer questions about plans for the sesquicentennial celebration as well as the new Archbold History exhibit.

“We look forward to having many people from the community join us on Jan. 28 to enjoy a delicious meal together and help support this new local history exhibit,” said Kris Jemmott, Archbold 150th Anniversary Committee member and director of Historic Village Operations. “We share stories of northwest Ohio history every day at Sauder Village, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to tell this very local history story in celebration of Archbold’s sesquicentennial.”

To help create this special exhibit, Sauder Village curators are also requesting the help of people from the Archbold community. If you have stories to share, old photos, interesting artifacts or anything else that may be of interest for this special exhibit, please contact Tracie Evans, Curator of Collections, at 419-446-2541 or [email protected]

The Barn Restaurant is located at 22611 State Route 2 just north of Archbold. For more information about the “Barn Gives Back” event, call 419-446-2541 or visit www.saudervillage.org.
