Sauder Village offering classes, events

Sauder Village in Archbold has listed a variety of classes and events online.

A “Penny Rug” class using fabric scraps will be held in late February, and a chair caning class for beginners in March. A broom-making apprenticeship is available by request.

Cooking classes will focus on homemade soup, scones, cheesecakes, and homemade breads from around the world. A gardening class and soap-making classes are also available.

“Education has been a cornerstone of the Sauder Village mission since the historic village opened in 1976. There aren’t many places in the region where you can learn so many unique crafts,” said Kim Krieger, Sauder Village spokesperson.

In addition to classes, Sauder Village will offer such events as quilt retreats, the Ohio-Michigan Shop Hop, and the 40th Annual Quilt Show and Workshops scheduled for April 26.

Upcoming events also include the Bridal Show on March 6, the Toledo Symphony Orchestra Concert on March 10, Spring on the Farm on May 14, and the Antique Car Gathering Show on May 21.
