Juvenile arrested after short chase

A juvenile was taken into custody today following a short vehicle chase in Fulton County.

A Fulton County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to stop a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee on US 20A, near State Route 109. Upon the activation of the deputy’s emergency lights and siren, the driver sped off, leading to a short vehicle chase, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

The vehicle was located a short time later and the juvenile driver was taken into custody. The driver was transported to the Northwest Ohio Juvenile Detention Center for incarceration on several charges, which included reckless driving, no valid operator’s license, and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.

This vehicle and driver were also involved in a chase with Morenci Police Department after the driver failed to stop when ordered to pull over by the Morenci officer prior to the incident in Fulton County.

The Fulton County Sheriffs Office was assisted by the Delta and Wauseon Police Departments, and also the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
