United Way asks for help to meet goal

Staff Report

The United Way of Fulton County has an ambitious goal of raising $340,000 to help support programs provided through 21 local non-profit organizations, and they’re almost there. But the community’s help is needed.

According to Executive Director Gina Saaf, nearly 75 percent of the goal has been met. “We believe that, together, with the support of our community, we can reach this goal of 100 percent,” she said.

And United Way of Fulton County has the opportunity to receive a matching grant that would double the donations received on Dec. 1, which has been designated #GivingTuesday. Celebrated nationwide by United Way chapters, #GivingTuesday is designed to inspire people to collaboratively take action to improve their communities through giving. Funding benefits internal United Way programs like Cancer Cure, Imagination Library, and after school programming. Last years, United Way of Fulton County provided programs that impacted 16,000 local residents.

“We stand united because this is our community, our neighbors, our families, and our future,” Saaf said.

Contributions can also be mailed to 604 S. Shoop Ave, Suite 122, Wauseon, Ohio 43567. For inquiries, contact Saaf at 419-337-9606.
