WHS choir featured at Choral Festival

The Wauseon High School A Capella Choir will appear along with two other high school choirs at 5th Annual Holiday Choral Festival, Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Defiance High School Community Auditorium.

The choir will perform several selections under the direction of James Vaughn, then join with the Rossford High School and Defiance High School choirs in singing “Silent Night” and several other songs, combining nearly 100 voices on stage. Each school will also have a small ensemble featured between choir selections.

The featured Yuletide favorites will include “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” and “Carol of the Bells.”

“It’s an amazing event,” said Eric West, Defiance director. “I feel that northwest Ohio is blessed with some great music educators and performing ensembles, and this is a way for all of us to share in the music making. The holiday season is the perfect opportunity to show our students and the community how wonderful working together can be.”

Tickets are $5, and are available at the door. Defiance High School is located at 1755 Palmer Drive.
