Sauder Village joins #GivingTuesday

Staff report

Non-profit Sauder Village has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.

Following Thanksgiving and the widely-recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this year’s #GivingTuesday event will take place Tuesday, Nov. 27, and will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back.

“Sauder Village is pleased to be part of the #GivingTuesday movement again this year,” said Andy Brodbeck, director of development. “As a 501c3 non-profit organization, gifts of time, talent, and finances to Sauder Village positively impact people of all ages, including the thousands of school children we serve each year. Donations also help us to provide a special place where families can slow down, spend quality time together, and enjoy fun with a purpose.”

As part of this local event, Sauder Village is registered for a chance to be selected to receive an unrestricted grant through the Toledo Community Foundation based on its participation and donations received on #GivingTuesday. Sauder Village is also participating with other community non-profit organizations for a #GivingTuesday event hosted by Everence Financial, offering $500,000 in matching gift opportunities. More details about this event are available at www.everence.com/GivingTuesdayNWO or by calling Brodbeck at 419-446-2541, ext. 3046.

Donations to the Sauder Village Experience Fund and special projects like the 1920s Main Street help preserve a rich heritage that would otherwise be lost forever. Gift to Sauder Village can be made on Nov. 27 at www.saudervillage.org or by mailing a check to: Sauder Village, PO Box 235, Archbold, Ohio 43502.
