The Swanton Public Library will be accepting non-perishable food donations in exchange for wiping away fines this holiday season.
The donations will be accepted through Dec. 30. Acceptable donations include boxed meals, canned foods, peanut butter, and cereal. No damaged or expired items.
Each acceptable donation will count toward late fees only, at a suggested rate of $1 per item. There is no cap to how much you can donate, so each case will be evaluated at the time of donation.
The library is happy to take any acceptable donations. All food donated will be given to the Swanton Christian Food Bank.
