CCNO awards service contracts

New service providers were awarded contracts at Monday’s meeting of the Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio.

Recent Requests for Proposals (RFP) were placed for the jail’s medical and mental health services, as well as the substance use treatment and education service.

CCNO Executive Director Dennis Sullivan and his team prepared a comparison for the board members to review on both of the proposals. “We want to do this the right way and give you a thorough review of these proposals so we can make the correct decision,” he said.

Submissions were received from Correct Care Solutions and Southern Health Partners for the medical RFP. The medical comparison highlighted each company’s profile, references, various aspects of the proposals, staffing, and ultimately the bottom dollar amount. After reviewing the information presented, the board decided to award the medical contract to Southern Health Partners.

The jail received proposals from Recovery Services and A Renewed Mind on the substance use and education RFP. In similar fashion, the treatment comparison looked at company profiles, references, aspects of the treatment programs, and the dollar amounts. The board reviewed the information presented and voted to proceed with A Renewed Mind for their treatment and educational services.

In other business, some board members asked for a Financial Overview Committee meeting to discuss the Evansport water issue. CCNO’s water tower is being suggested by the Environmental Protection Agency as part of the solution to the topic.
