Parents can learn the current trends and risks their children face online at a free Digital Empowerment Project event being held Thursday, Nov. 1, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at Wauseon Middle School, 940 E. Oak St.
Hosted by the school district, the presentation by will delve into what students are encountering online and how to encourage them to make safe and healthy choices. The event is reserved for parents and adult community members only; students are not invited.
Topics will include: the Dark Web; app functionality and popular apps; mobile access; online relationships; sexting; pornography; monitoring Internet use; establishing cyberbalance; and resources for parents.
