NSCC hosting Entrepreneurship Forum

Northwest State Community College in Archbold celebrates the spirit of entrepreneurship and the power of small businesses by hosting the 5th Annual Entrepreneurship Forum on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 10 a.m.-noon, in the Voinovich Auditorium.

The free event is open to all residents of Fulton, Henry, Defiance, and Williams, and Paulding counties with an idea, concept or business plan, as well as those simply interested in attending.

Forum panelists include Darrell Handy, president and CEO, Defiance County Chamber of Commerce; Matt Gilroy, executive director, Fulton County Economic Development Corporation; Joel Miller, executive director, Henry County Chamber of Commerce; Denish Dahl, executive director, Henry County Economic Development; Jerry Zielke, executive director, Paulding County Economic Development; Matt Davis, executive director, Williams County Economic Development; Dave Dorner, executive director, Oregon Economic Development; Dave Figley, commercial lender, First Federal Bank; Ray Meiers, intellectual property attorney, Black, McCuskey, Souers, and Arbaugh.

NSCC participants include Michael Thomson, president; Janet Delcamp, dean of Business; Lisa Becher, Business faculty, State of Ohio Small Business Development Center advisor, and local business owner.

Two new features this year include the awarding of investment cash to one presenter, courtesy of First Federal Bank of the Midwest; and the offer by attorney Jim Weaner of use of a commercial real estate property in Defiance, along with a business set-up for the entrepreneur.

“There are a lot of great ideas generated by innovative entrepreneurs in our area,” said Lisa Becher, business faculty at NSCC. “The Entrepreneurship Forum at Northwest State encourages those innovative thinkers and risk-takers to bring their ideas to the table, where our panel of experts will carefully listen to the concepts and provide real-time, valuable insight to help those ideas succeed.”

Registration is required; lunch will not be provided but can be purchased at the NSCC Cafe.
