Eleven motorists were issued citations during a Traffic Enforcement Blitz conducted Oct. 5-7 and Oct. 12-14 by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with area high school Homecoming activities. The citations were for eight speed violations, one operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and one adult seat belt violation. Deputies made 33 traffic stops during the blitz, and also issued 26 warnings and a misdemeanor citation to a minor with an open container.
A traffic blitz, designated Halloween Blitz, will be held Oct. 27-31. Deputies will work various hours in various locations, and will look for impaired drivers and other traffic violations associated with impaired driving.
The traffic blitzes are funded through a grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
