Swan Creek Community Church on E. Main Street in Delta, in partnership with Impact with Hope in Waterville will be collecting supplies for the thousands affected by Hurricane Michael, which suddenly hit the panhandle of Florida Oct. 10.
“We are focusing on collecting cleaning and baby items (diapers and wipes),” Carol Goldsmith, collection coordinator at Swan Creek, reported. “Donations can be dropped off at Healthy Habits, now located inside the church across from Twisty Freeze, during their regular business hours: 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, or in front of the church from 2 until 6 p.m”
Donations will also be accepted Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“Scripture commands us to ‘love your neighbor as yourself,’” Swan Creek Pastor Michael Mortensen said. “While ‘these neighbors’ are 945 miles away, we still feel compelled to help these people, whose lives will be turned upside down for a long time. If each member of our community gives something, collectively we can make a difference for those in need.”
