On Saturday, August 4 and Sunday, August 5, Doll lovers from throughout the Midwest will gather at Sauder Village in Archbold from Aug. 4-5 for the 35th Annual Doll and Teddy Bear Show and Sale at Founder’s Hall and for the popular Antique Bicycle Event.
With doll and teddy bear exhibitors, a doll lecture, doll appraisals, special activities for children, and antique bicycles, there will be plenty for guests to enjoy.
Through the years, the Doll and Teddy Bear Show and Sale has maintained a reputation for its quality collectibles. Vendors will showcase their treasured dolls and bears, and guests can shop and enjoy a variety of items including antique dolls, original dolls, teddy bears, and modern collectibles. Also available will be vintage toys, accessories, supplies, artist reproductions, clothing, doll furniture, books, and patterns.

The Ann Arbor Doll Collectors Club will again offer a free craft activity for children as well as a Doll Photo Booth. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite doll to “dress up” and pose for a photo. A variety of doll-themed activities will also taking place on Saturday, including children make yarn dolls, clothespin dolls, wooden bead dolls, and Popsicle-stick ballerina dolls.
The village will also host the Ohio Wheelmen’s 22nd Regional Meet. The Wheelmen is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to keeping alive the heritage of American cycling, promoting the restoration and riding of early cycles (1918 or earlier), and encouraging cycling as part of modern living.
More than 50 antique bikes will be on display on the village green, and a special antique bike parade will take place each afternoon at 2 p.m. Throughout the weekend, guests will have the opportunity to interact with members of t he Midwest chapters of The Wheelmen to ask questions, see demonstrations, and get an up-close look at these unique bicycles.
The Doll Show and Sale will be held 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. A “show-only” admission of $8 must be purchased in Founder’s Hall.
