The Fulton County Historical Society and the Fulton County Court of Common Pleas are hosting historical walking tours on Saturday, June 20.
Tours will begin on the front steps of the Fulton County Courthouse, 210 S. Fulton St., at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a..m and noon. Court Security Officer Horst Wudi will lead the courthouse tour while providing historical background of the spectacular and well preserved Fulton County Court of Common Pleas courtroom.
From the courthouse, guests can continue their tour with a walk to the Wauseon Depot, 225 Depot St., where Historical Society members will be providing tours and information.
The tours end at the Fulton County Museum, 229 Monroe St., where guests enter this historical landmark, which houses artifacts and the “Hell & Homefront – Civil War” exhibit. Histories of downtown storefronts and homes will be part of the walking tour between the three locations.
Tickets may be purchased at the beginning of each tour: $7 adults with $5 for children and Historical Society members. Proceeds will benefit the construction of the Society’s proposed Museum and Welcome Center of Fulton County.
Berries to boot
The Strawberry Festival, also on June 20 is sponsored by the Wauseon Chamber of Commerce, the Wauseon Downtown Association and the Fulton County Historical Society. Strawberry shortcake will be sold at the Chamber office beginning at 11 a.m.
The Wauseon Downtown Association’s Farmer’s Market on North Fulton Street begins on June 20. Each Farmer’s Market lasts from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Farmer’s Markets will be held from June 20 to Oct. 10.
Live music for the first market will be performed by Michael Buck, Linden Street and Ryan Roth.
