Saturday is Wauseon Chili Cook Off

Contestants will prepare 270 gallons

The Wauseon Chili Cook Off will be held this Saturday, Sept. 26 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fulton Street. The committee has recruited 20 contestants who will prepare over 270 gallons of chili.

Each contestant is competing to win bragging rights and also have a chance to win $400, $300, $200 for the best chili and also $50 for best decorated booth.

Come downtown and vote for the best favorite chili as the Wauseon Police and Wauseon Fire departments battle it out for First Responder bragging rights. There will be lots of entertainment, kids inflatables, face painting, pumpkin decorating contest, artists and artisians. The committee has over 50 craft vendors committed to the event.

Also, there will be appearances of McGruff the Crime Dog, Happy the Clown, Tommy Transit, Ronald McDonald and free train rides by Marv Rittenhouse.
