Given good weather and quality grandstand talent to entertain the crowds of people, the Fulton County Fair had a very strong showing at the entrance gates this year. The announced attendance of 285,794 was the third largest attendance figure for the seven day event since such numbers were tracked in the mid-1990s.
The attendance record breaker was in 2013 where the announced attendance figure was 298,346 with last year, 2014, showing 291,349 as the second largest attendance.
“Given the hot and humid weather we had at the beginning of Fair Week and The Ohio State University game, we had a good fair attendance,” said fair board president Dennis Wyse. While some of the eat stands had slow traffic, the beverage stands had tremendous foot traffic.
“To look at the figures and see this was the third best attended fair, the board and I are pleased with the end results.”
When asked about plans for next year, Wyse said, “It is way too early to visit about 2016. The board will meet in a couple months and start working the process.”
