A Lucas County trucking company has relocated just outside of Delta, and promises to add up to 20 new positions next spring.

Johnson’s Trucking LLC will open at 4840 US 20A on Sept. 25, according to owner Brandon Johnson. Established in 1999, the 100-employee company recently moved from its leased Monclova, Ohio, location after Johnson purchased the 29-acre Delta property and its holdings for $700,000.

The company’s fleet of 60 trucks hauls hot asphalt, concrete, dirt, and stone within an 80-mile radius. Driveway stone, sand, and topsoil are sold at the site.

Beginning in March, Johnson’s will operate a truck wash service, and will hire 15 to 20 people. Johnson said the company may add other features over time, and wants to lease 20 acres of the property.

A company sign should be in place this week. Johnson said his business began humbly, and has grown successfully over 16-years of operation. “We started this company with one truck and built it up,” he said.

Johnson’s Trucking will operate Monday to Saturday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The site formerly housed Ohio Scrap Corporation.
